This is an out of office I got today:
Thank you for your email. From April 26-April 30, we will be not be responding to email nor sending them out except to customers, partners, prospects and investors. We want to maximize authenticity and human connection in our interactions and email is not the best tool to accomplish that. You will receive a call from me in regards to this email and I look forward to having a live discussion with you. If you have an urgent request, please call my mobile 555-555-5555.
Crazy! Cra-zy!
Does your company have the balls to say they won’t reply to email to better customer service?
You have got to be kidding me. Sometimes, I don’t want to talk to people. I want to catalog a conversation and make sure that I get the info I need documented. I understand the effort, but not everyone has the 8-5 time to have a conversation, sad but true.
Hey Kristina, I know sometimes it’s not even close to possible to do something like this. I did make an effort to call more people who I enjoy talking to instead of just sending an email. Talking to some of them made my day! But I am all about documentation, too. There are people who will twist words or remember conversations that never happened. At least email is a way to keep some of that straight. Thanks!
