Hi Emily,
Did not know you are a painter. Nice illustration of technique. Have you ever tried painting on rice paper? The composition of the paper makes for all sorts of interesting effects and the same strokes can have different result on different pieces of rice paper.
Marc
I actually got a lot of my artistic nature from my grandfather. He was a Navy pilot and used to take photographs of the clouds. When he no longer flew, he began painting different planes in the sky, and his clouds were always so true to life.
I’ll try rice paper, thank you for the suggestion! One other technique I picked up during my water color days is using plastic wrap on the wet paint. It creates neat textures and can separate the colors in an interesting manner. I do it on my canvases when I have watered-down colors.
Thanks Marc!
